A family in Torquay got the DIY SOS Big Build treatment recently when they had their home completely transformed.
The Finish Electrical crew joined Nick Knowles and his team to help make the Philp’s family in Torquay life easier.
Mr Philp, who is 6ft 7in, has suffered with progressive multiple sclerosis since his daughter Lauren was born, and has had to live and sleep in a chair in his living room.
Lin, his mother, is blind and up until now would walk across Torquay from her own home every day to care for him. The Big Build would allow them to all live together making life much easier for all of them.
Natalie Cash, 32, manager of Finish Electrical in Paignton said she saw an advertisement for the show and applied on behalf of her husband’s company.
“I didn’t expect to hear anything back I just thought we would be really lucky to be part of it,” she said.
“It is my husband Aaron’s company and so when we found out they needed our help we had to push a lot of our customer’s work back, but they were so understanding and we were thrilled to be part of the big build.
“We sent a couple of our lads to work on the project and at the big reveal it was so lovely to see how many people turned up for it and that had come forward to help the family.”
The team at Finish Electrical were delighted and privileged to be included in the DIY SOS Big Build. The experience is one they definitely won’t forget in a hurry!
